Colleen Mangone is a senior crisis communications advisor with 25 years of experience supporting government, nonprofit, and mission-focused organizations through high-stakes incidents, reputational risk, and time-sensitive challenges. Her work is grounded in public trust, transparency, and responsible storytelling, helping organizations communicate clearly and credibly when scrutiny is high. Mangone’s background spans senior roles in government and mission-driven organizations, including work on Capitol Hill, at Brand USA—the nation’s destination marketing organization—and at IAAPA, a global trade association representing a highly scrutinized industry.
Across these environments, she has advised elected officials, CEOs, and senior leadership and communications teams during serious safety incidents and complex crises, including incidents involving loss of life, public health emergencies, protests, natural disasters, and other situations requiring rapid, coordinated response.
Mangone brings strategic counsel and hands-on execution to support situational response planning, stakeholder and board communications, media engagement, and long-term reputational stewardship. She has extensive experience developing comprehensive crisis communications plans and scalable crisis plan templates for nonprofit and mission-focused organizations and has led crisis planning and preparedness webinars to strengthen organizational readiness and resilience.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of South Carolina and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.
