Communicating complex cardiovascular science to physicians is critical to advancing patient care. Yes& CommCore coached Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ medical specialists to deliver clear, compelling presentations. Together, we enhanced Novartis’ peer-to-peer medical education.
Challenge
Novartis had developed a highly scientific, case-based program called Patient Integrated Learnings (PILs). In the program, specialists presented the latest medical research on cardiovascular disease to other medical professionals. These presentations required a specialized set of communication skills: making detailed clinical data accessible and engaging for expert physician audiences in interactive, small-group settings.
Novartis needed support to:
- Coach physicians on delivering strategic, credible talks
- Prepare for challenging and technical questions in real time
- Strengthen facilitation skills as well as presentation fundamentals

Solution
Yes& CommCore designed and delivered a customized presentation coaching program tailored to Novartis’s scientific content and presentation environment.
Our program included:
- Targeted workshops focused on scientific presentations and peer-to-peer communication
- Facilitation coaching to help presenters lead dynamic, discussion-driven sessions
- 1-on-1 feedback and rehearsal, grounded in real PILs scenarios
- Guidance on structure and messaging, including opening effectively, emphasizing key points, and handling challenging questions
We didn’t provide generic presentation skills. Instead, our custom presentation training addressed the specific demands of communicating complex medical science to physicians.
Results
Our program was implemented nationwide at significant scale. We trained more than 5,000 physicians in 250 workshops in 25 cities.
Participant feedback was overwhelmingly positive. “(This was) much more interesting and focused than the typical speaker presentation skills seminar,” one participant said.
